This page explains what georgiosb.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by Georgios B., who you can reach at georgios@georgiosb.com.
The letter
The letter is published on LinkedIn. The Subscribe buttons on this site open its page there, and you subscribe on LinkedIn, with your LinkedIn account and under LinkedIn’s privacy policy. This site does not ask for your email address for the letter and keeps nothing about your subscription.
Speaking enquiries
The enquiry form sends your name, email, organisation, event details and message to this site’s server, where only Georgios can read them, and a copy to his inbox by email, sent through Resend (resend.com). They are used only to answer your enquiry and are deleted automatically one year after you sent them.
The basis is the steps you ask for before a possible engagement, and Georgios’s legitimate interest in answering you.
Booking a call
When you book a call, the site keeps the day and time you chose, your name, your email and your two answers on its own server, where only Georgios can read them. A calendar invitation for the call goes to you and to Georgios by email, sent through Resend (resend.com); it carries the link to the video call, which takes place on Google Meet, under Google’s privacy policy. To offer only free times, the site reads which times are busy in Georgios’s calendar; it sends nothing about you there. Bookings are deleted automatically one year after they were made.
The basis is the steps you ask for before a possible engagement, and Georgios’s legitimate interest in preparing the call.
Videos and links
The short film in the Speaking section is served by this site itself. Links to YouTube, LinkedIn, Amazon and other sites open those sites, under their own privacy policies; nothing is loaded from them until you follow a link.
Visits
The site counts visits on its own server: the page you read, the parts of the home page you scrolled to, the site you came from, how long you stayed and the family of your browser. It writes nothing in your browser for this and uses no cookies and no third-party analytics. Your IP address is not stored: it becomes a short one-way code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you.
Cookies and storage
The site uses no advertising, no tracking pixels and no analytics cookies, and what it keeps in your browser only makes the site work, so it does not ask for your consent and shows no cookie banner.
gb-intro (session storage in your browser): remembers that the opening animation has already played, so it shows only once. It disappears when you close the tab.
gb-loc (session storage in your browser): remembers how far down a page you were, so that the Go back button and the back button of your browser return you to the same place. It disappears when you close the tab.
__cf_bm (cookie set by Cloudflare, which protects the site): tells people from automated traffic. It is strictly necessary for security and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. If Cloudflare ever asks you to prove you are a person, it also sets cf_clearance to remember the answer.
site_admin (cookie): only for the site’s administrator, after logging in. It is never set for visitors.
There are no other cookies.
Where the data is
The site and its database run on Railway, in a data centre in Amsterdam, in the European Union. Every visit passes through Cloudflare (cloudflare.com), which protects the site and sees your IP address for that purpose only; the basis is the legitimate interest in keeping the site safe. Enquiry and booking emails are sent through Resend, from Ireland. Georgios’s mailbox and calendar are on Google. Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the European Union, under their own safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy. Write to georgios@georgiosb.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
